Overview

Marketing Moves helps a growing Technology company appoint a new Global PR Manager in just three weeks.

Background

When a growing technology company based in London decided that they needed to expand their communications output to keep pace with the overall size of their organisation, they contacted Marketing Moves to deliver the Global PR Manager  recruitment of a vitally important role.

After several extensive, comprehensive meetings, it was agreed to commence the executive search for a dedicated Global PR Manager. Once in post, the successful candidate would develop and implement a global PR strategy and develop relationships between the company and both the global press and influencer communities.

Challenge

Difficulties associated with this role were twofold. Firstly, Marketing Moves needed to quickly understand the company’s priorities across each department, how they develop and execute exciting umbrella global PR plans, how they manage agencies, assign workloads and KPIs, and work with Product and Marketing teams on the tone of voice.

Secondly, all the above meant that the company was naturally looking for someone with a specific skill set and personality. Global PR roles within the technology sector are not extremely common so finding good, available candidates quickly is incredibly difficult.

Results

After a comprehensive recruitment process that covered traditional recruitment practices as well as the latest digital methodologies, Jack created a long list of five candidates, of which three made the shortlist. These three were then invited to a formal three-stage interview process, which included meeting the Head of Communications, then the Head of Marketing, and finally with two team members.

Outcome

Marketing Moves is delighted that from these three candidates, one successful applicant has been chosen. The candidate is a great personality fit and is widely acknowledged to be a talented professional on her way up. She also comes with exceptional references from her previous company – which were personally verified by the Head of Communications who also used to work there, so they shared mutual colleagues in a previous life. The time from the initial briefing to offer was just three weeks, which is incredibly fast for such a senior role.
