Since 1991, Marketing Moves has been famous for helping marketing professionals across the UK, Europe and USA find new jobs across all areas of technology marketing, at all levels, from Marketing Assistant through to Head of Marketing and ultimately CMO.

One of the reasons behind our longevity is that we constantly analyse each area of Technology Marketing in order to educate ourselves, our clients, and our candidates – in order to ensure that we maintain our position as market leaders when it comes to recruiting the best available tech marketing professionals, whilst also advising on what skills are in demand.

Be they 2nd or 3rd round start ups, mid-size vendors or established multinational corporates, our client companies cover software vendors, SaaS/Cloud based firms, Telcos and services organisations. Melvin Day, Managing Director of Marketing Moves, gives his current assessment of the most current in-demand marketing skills:

As always there is a huge variety of job titles in tech marketing. Certain roles continue to be in high demand whatever the current trends – namely demand/field marketing, digital, campaign and comms. In addition to these we are seeing an increased requirement for two skill specific sets, namely Account Based Marketing (ABM) and Content Marketing.

However, Marketing Operations expertise also continues to be highly sought after – this can range from a very technical remit to a broader analysis/insight focus. In terms of industry sectors, the cyber security space continues to have high demand along with FinTech. More traditional, large multinational software and hardware vendors do have opportunities however many, understandably, prefer to look within for their next ‘hire’. Overall, the demand for tech marketers remains high notwithstanding broader political concerns.

To reiterate this point, recently we have worked with a number of fast growing niche software vendors from the US looking to establish their first marketing teams in the UK.
