Overview
When global telecommunications company Motorola wanted to increase their UK team and develop local automation activity, they contacted Marketing Moves to deliver the Marketing Automation Analyst recruitment project!

Company
Founded in America almost 100 years ago and employing over 40,000 people worldwide, Motorola is currently valued at over $12billion.

Background
Motorola was looking to increase the team in the UK and develop the automation activity locally – but also to be part of the global marketing operations and marketing communications team in the US. They required a passionate Marketing Technology professional who understands the value that data and analytics can bring to the B2B world. The role also required the individual to maintain and govern the global marketing automation system and arm the marketing organisation with the tools they needed to be successful. 

Challenge
Finding good automation people at the level required is a challenge on its own and great candidates don’t stay free for long! Additionally, the role was primarily based from home with only one day a week in the offices. Whilst this might be a dream to some, a lot of people prefer 2 – 3 days in the office and this was not an option. As if these two factors combined weren’t enough, it is always very hard to coordinate video interviews in different time zones – which was required in this instance as the marketing team is based in America. 

Solution
After extensive searches Sally reduced the initial longlist of candidates to a finely-tuned shortlist of just two applicants – but in the end only presented one as the other took a role elsewhere. Proof were it needed that the best talent is not available for long. The remaining candidate lived outside of London and wanted to be based from home.

Outcome
The interview consisted of five video interviews: four with the US and one with the UK marketing team. After this extensive process it was felt that the candidate was an excellent fit for the role and culturally right for the business. Marketing Moves is delighted to announce that Motorola decided to appoint the applicant to the role of Marketing Automation Analyst.
