The company is a well established and truly global software vendor, which is a global leader in risk management software.
With one member of the marketing team leaving and the company wishing to make fundamental changes to its team structure, they decided to hire a contractor for additional support during the transition period. Furthermore, if a hire could be made quickly there could be a handover period with the outgoing employee – retaining crucial company data, processes and intellectual property.
The Contract Marketing Manager role was a broad marketing support role – giving advice and assistance to multiple employees across a wide range of marketing activities when needed. Because of this, the company needed to recruit a high performing, multi-skilled Contract Marketing Manager who was able to work easily across the team, as well as provide cover for the outgoing marketing employee.
In order to hit the ground running, the company required a candidate with strong digital and marketing automation experience so they could pick up elements of the role quickly with minimal training. Along with this, they also needed a candidate to start the role immediately on a short term contract basis so that they could perform a handover.
Over the last six years, Laura Barrett, Marketing Moves’ Head of Contract Recruitment, has built up a strong network of contract marketers who specialise in the technology sector – predominantly software focused. She searched through her existing network and connections for contractors to find candidates who had experience of the specific requirements and who were available immediately.
