When a leading Data Analytics Software company needed to recruit a new Marketing Director in London – with an added focus on lead generation and team leadership and development – the company’s Chief Communications Officer engaged Marketing Moves’ Partner Jack Berry to recruit this important role.

The company required the new Marketing / Lead Generation Director to drive the marketing strategy for lead generation and lead management. Additionally a key requirement was to manage and inspire a team of creative marketeers across digital, content, social, demand and field operations. Furthermore, there was significant time pressure to make the appointment.
Specifically, the new hire was needed to work collaboratively across multiple departments – including product management, customer success, partner and sales teams. The output of this extensive work was to help deliver meaningful leads that convert through multiple marketing tactics. This role plays a crucial part in the end-to-end sales process and is the glue that binds the insights, marketing and sales teams together.
With such a wide range of niche requirements required in a narrow time window, the challenge lay in finding a candidate who could manage across departments, was experienced in B2B software marketing, an expert at lead management processes and of course an excellent culture fit.
Part of the reason the company instructed Marketing Moves is due to Jack’s specialist knowledge of the data analytics software space. Over several years Jack has built up a comprehensive network of marketing professionals in this area, having completed numerous similar recruitment projects.
Combining this existing knowledge with targeted searching, Jack created a longlist of eight candidates. After meeting and maintaining regular contact with all parties, Jack put forward a shortlist of four for interview.
All four applicants went through a comprehensive five-stage interview process, meeting senior stakeholders and members of the team that the new Marketing Director would be managing. After careful consideration from all parties, the decision was taken to make a formal offer to one of the shortlisted applicants, which was accepted. Significantly, the time taken from brief to offer was just six weeks.
