Role

The Senior Internal Communications Manager was required to be responsible for advising, defining and executing internal communication and engagement programs to support Temenos’ business priorities.

This role was central to shaping the overall internal communication strategy – helping to bring business strategy, purpose, vision, and values to life through communications that inspire people and enhance company culture.

This was a high-impact role with the potential to make a mark on the next chapter of Temenos’ story. We were looking for someone with a passion for internal communications – who could combine strategic thinking and strong execution.

Thankfully for this recruitment project there were no out-of-the-ordinary obstacles – just the usual hurdles of finding both the skillset and cultural fit in someone actively looking or at least open to move.

In order to complete a comprehensive market map / audit of the internal communications tech sector, Mel:

posted the job to the Marketing Moves website, which automatically emailed the role to over 20,000 tech marketing professionals across the world
manually searched the Marketing Moves database (constantly updated since 1991), to find and directly approach suitable passive candidates who might otherwise not reply to an automated jobs email
posted the job to Linkedin and other suitable job boards at our own cost to attract active candidates
Set his charm setting to 11 so that no-one would dream of saying no

Outcome

In total, Mel created an incredibly comprehensive longlist of 162 candidates – testament to the lengths gone at Marketing Moves to secure the best candidate, each and every time.

With careful analysis of each longlist member, Mel whittled the total down to 21. After speaking with each and then liaising with both Temenos’ Global Head of Marketing Communications and Internal Talent Lead, Mel put forward eight applicants to a three stage interview process that also involved a test exercise.

After much deliberation from the hiring panel, one lucky candidate was offered the position thanks to their great fit with the business, deep subject matter expertise and being a generally lovely person all round!
