Job Description
Group Account Directors are essential members of any agency, ensuring successful delivery of managed market services and products across multiple accounts within assigned clients. They're involved in client strategy, marketing, campaign budgets, and assists in up-selling new initiatives, products, and services to existing clients.
As a key member of the team, the Group Account Director assists Client Services leadership to build/deepen client relationships and ensure client satisfaction through high levels of performance achievement. They're responsible for overall management, mentoring, training, and development of assigned direct-report(s).

Key Responsibilities
 
As a Client Manager, you are responsible for developing SOW and project briefs, as well as managing day-to-day operations for my assigned accounts. My top priority is ensuring that my clients are satisfied with all project deliverables. Maintaining strong relationships with my clients is key to achieving this goal and retaining their business. I work closely with my clients to understand their strategic brand or departmental direction, and provide business solutions that demonstrate my expertise in managed markets and their assigned disease state/therapeutic area. I also provide regular status and contact reports to my clients to keep them up-to-date on project progress.
Project Management

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful execution of projects and budget management as appropriate
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality control of client materials and develop best practices/SOPs for project teams to facilitate quality control and consistency
  • Leads internal teams to ensure project timelines are met, quality of work is
  • high, and communication is fluid with all parties, each member understanding their roles
  • Participates in internal meetings with strategy, client services, creative, copy, project management, editorial, and other key personnel to discuss project status

 
Leadership

  • As a Group Account Director, my role is to ensure that my assigned Account Services team is meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations. I take pride in coaching, developing, and supervising my staff on a consistent and ongoing basis. It is important to me that I identify and communicate clear roles and responsibilities of team members, establishing clear expectations for all involved.
      
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the healthcare industry, medical marketing and communications industry, disease-specific issues, and clinical data, I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge with both my staff and clients. It is critical that clients have access to the most up-to-date and relevant information to help their businesses thrive.

Business Development

  • Contributes to new business initiatives by collaborating with Creative, Strategic and Program Development (as applicable)
  • Responsible for organic growth of existing client project work and up-selling where appropriate

Finance

  • Manages proposal development, project management, projections, reconciliation and forecasting to meet corporate and account goals
  • Provides as required budget status updates and communication with client
  • Ensures budgets and project estimates are accurate and appropriately represent required project hours

 
Qualifications and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience with a pharmaceutical advertising agency experience or in a managed markets, medical communications company
  • Managed Markets experience is required
  • 8 + years in direct client/ brand account management
  • 1x a week be able to travel to the office
